Remembering those who served

~In Remembrance of all those have fallen protecting our country~

Hello my friends. I'm still around.  Boy, I've missed you all. I haven't taken nor had the time to visit everyone in weeks. Several of you know that I take care of my Mother in-law who hasn't been well for some time.  These past few weeks have been rough ones and she has needed more help than before. We finally got a Home Health nurse to visit three times last week to help with something beyond my capability, then things got worse and I had to take her to the hospital on Thursday at which time she was admitted and is still there. Complications do to kidney failure.  One thing lead to another and we found out she had an extremely bad bladder infection that she must have had for far to long. Anyway, lots of particulars in between that I'll spare the details, but that is where I've been. Her health and care comes first and I've had to put much of my own life on hold for now. I'm way behind on swap commitments, lost out on a few orders and needless to say, I'm way over tired. Not much help from any of the little bit of family that there is. Won;t even go there............ So it's left up to my hubby and myself. We've always known when this point in her life came, that we would be the ones to take care of her.  I wouldn't have it any other way though. We spent all day at the hospital again today, and thankfully she is showing signs of improvement, except where the kidney's are concerned of course. We'll see what tomorrow brings when I get there in the morning.  For now she is comfortable and in better spirits.

Special thanks go out to Jean of Prim Crafts and to Lecia of Farmhouse Prims for the sweet birthday gifts I received this last week.  Thank you Linda Parker for the lovely card in the mail and the birthday wishes from those sent by email and on FB.  You all made my day. I'm sorry, but I've misplaced my camera--------------I'm going crazy or maybe it's my age, who knows?
So, I don't have pics of the goodies that I got. Hopefully when things settle down (please tell me they will!) I will be able to share pics.

Big hugs to all of you. I've got lots of catching up to do and I can't tell you how much I want to just sit here and read everyone's blogs, but my hubby just let me know he made us a yummy chef salad and got me some "Moose Tracks" ice cream for my birthday-----no cake ;-)  I don't eat much ice cream so this is a treat! Secretly I think he was craving it and used my bday for the excuse, but hey, I'll take it that's for sure.  Take care my friends.

hugz and blessings,
Sheila

Happy First of May~Anniversary and recent finds!

Hello friends, and Happy 1st Day of May!
Thought I'd pop in and say hello,
let you all know I've been thinking of everyone.
It seems the days just keep
flying by as life get's busier this time of year.
Seems like I've been
busy with a whole lot of nothing-ness.
Trying to work on wholesale items,
working on a wedding,
taking care of my MIL,
having hubby under foot,
(two projects he was waiting word on have been cancelled!)
Leaving the state and trying to find work
isn't really an option right now,
with his mom needing us more and more.
Then, we've been
helping friends clean, paint and move
into their new home
and managed to squeeze in time for
the monthly
flea market this past weekend.
Want to support all the local people we can
while we can, so this is what I found
on Saturday.

The vendor had a very small collection of bobbins-
most of the others I already had
but this one is bigger than the picture
lets on!
Was $12 paid $8
Found these jello molds, Christmas tree cookie cutter
and bobbin a few weeks ago~

Found Mr. Alex a brand new engineer hat!
.75 cents !!!

Oh, who are these young-n's?
Yep, hubby and I, thirty-six years ago today!
Married at the
Cathedral of the Pines
Rindge, New Hampshire
~We'd Only Just Begun~

Also managed to dust off, and I mean I had to DUST
when I changed out my Easter goodies
to this current display of
Patriotic hand mades that I recently
got from blogging buds!

My young neighbor and his wife have been buying
storage units for several months now.  On
occasion we get first dibs on what they will be
selling in their soon to be second hand store.
Knowing what I might be interested in he called me
over the other day.
This picture is not even close to showing
all that was in the big storage tote!
Whom ever this belonged to was a quilter
and we're pretty sure that family members didn't
know what to do with it so it got left behind.
Yo-yo's, ribbons, fabric squares, circles,
hexagons and strips.
That striped piece, it's actually a vest in progress.
I'll never finish it or wear it so I'll find another
project to work it into.
Hey, you never know, you might find it in
your swap goodies if you're my next partner!

AND. . . . . . . .got cans??

Finally, I've had my hubby help me process
these grungy cans.
I have my own method of doing them
and since he's had ample time on his hands
I caught him in a good mood the other day
(he's getting cranky, not working)
and showed him what I needed help with.
Wow, was I ever happy to have it too!
I like to work in assembly line fashion.
I'm trying real hard to get
things made up for a wholesale site
as well as some other shops
and hopeful sales.
I don't know how so many of you
do all the creating, cooking and cleaning?
Thought I was fairly organized and all
but can't seem to find a balance
these days...........
SO,
I best get off this computer,
check on the dinner I'm making
for us tonight,
get my basket of hand-work ready
that I can do while watching TV tonight.
How's that for a romantic
anniversary celebration?  lol

Hope to visit you all soon.
Thanks for stopping today.
hugz,
Sheila

Earth Day Scenic Drive & New Sewing notions Arrangements

Good morning friends~
Dare I rub it in that we finally had a most gorgeous weekend?
Oh, it was a lovely 89 degrees!!!!
Believe me when I say, I do feel sorry for all of you
who are snow covered this morning!
I might be eating crow about the end of May
for having bragged about our nice weather
~smile~

We spent a wonderful Earth Day
taking my MIL out to a late breakfast
and for a very long scenic drive.
She loves to see new places
and all the times that she's traveled with us
and my BIL/SIL  over the years,
(and they do travel) and take Mother
along, she had never been to the area we
took her too that is not far from us.

Lush alfalfa field

One of several boaters on American Falls Reservoir

I know this doesn't look like much, yet.
Give it a about a month and this dirt field will be
showing signs of the famous Idaho Potato !

A few of my newest creations.
Sewing Notions Arrangements
Wouldn't one look great on a sewing room shelf?
or be a great gift for Mothers Day??
Contact me if you may be interested.
No two will be the same.

AND. . . . . . . .
Look what arrived today !
The wonderful tin cookie cutter I won
from Fire Cracker Kid!!!!!
Oh, he is bigger than I thought.
Thanks so much Carol!

Guess it's lunch time already.
Hubby just came in from mowing
the lawn and asked me what was for lunch.
Already?
We've been up since 6:15 so I guess his tummy is
telling him it's lunch time.
Then we're off to take care of some business for his Mom.
She is signing over her '98 Rav 4 to us today.

Hope you all have a great Monday.
hugz,
Sheila
